3 years already?!?!
On Feburary 12, 2001 a very bad tragedy, which ended the lives of Brittany, Dylan, and Kirstie, happened. But I know that is has been 3 years, It seems like it only happened a couple months ago. I wish it never happened, but it did and now all anyone can do is deal with it in their own ways. |

Below is a poem that Brittany's friend Tori Adkins wrote, I thought it deserved to be on the front page.
Brittany Whalen
I wrote this poem in memory of a close friend,
Brittany Whalen,
You've proven to me that no friendship can last forever.
I wish we could have stayed friends,
And not have been separated by your death.
You had blonde hair and blue eyes.
You were the skinniest person I knew
You had 2 sisters and 1 brother Dylan, Kirstie, and Haylee.
They reminded me so much of you.
Dylan and Kirstie were killed too.
Haylee was the only one to live.
She has grown up to be so much like you.
When I see her I miss you even more.
Sometimes I cry because you never got to grow up and be a teacher,
Have a 13th birthday party, or even go to the prom.
I miss everything.
But mostly I miss you. I miss your smile, the secrets we used to tell,
And the lies we would say so that no one knew.
But...
I hated the way you were so shy.
And the way we would get into trouble for stupid stuff.
I miss you so much.
I miss the way you used to make me feel better when I was sad.
And the way I would make you feel better when your step dad was mean to you.
And...
I miss the way we would just sit and talk when there was nothing to do.
I wish you could be here right now but I know you can't be.
So I write this for you Brittany for changing my life,
And being such a good friend.
I miss you and I wish you were here.
